82.It's easy to see that what he says and what he does_______agree.
don't /isn't

agree = Verb

89.More often than_.he walked to school .
seldom/not

more often than not = often = 过半,多数情况下。
I) He walked to school more often than (he do) not (walk to school).
II) He walked to school more often than (he) seldom (walk to school).

91.He very much wanted to attend the reception; however,in the end he______go.
had not to/was not able to

92.How does it come _______that you are here in Shanghai ,and not in Beijin?
out /about

come about = happen = 发生。
come out = 出现

101.Where______the letters? They are no where to be found.
I_________-them in the top drawer. How can they be missing?
did you put...have put/have you put...put

where have you put the letters? 强调已经完成,强调事后影响,因为后面说现在no where to be found.

I put them in the drawer.

110.I communicated with him_____writing,not by speaking to him, sending him a verbal message.
in/out of

Look at the connection between "communicate" and "write". Obviously, "write" is a way of "communicate". Thus,

It should be "communicate w/ sb. in (the way of) writing", not "out of (the way of) writing".

113.the climbers sat on the small hill, strange noise_____their ears.
falling on/falling in

First look at familiar examples:

fall in love. fall in action.(abstract concept)
fall on a girl, fall on wall. (concrete object)

ear is a concrete object.

second understand their meanings:

The noise hits their ears. Therefore, it should be "fall on".

116.When he was small,he once became seriously ill and for weeks she________-
was nearly dead/was near death

sonicccboy 2004-8-15 11:08

116。was nearly dead。 i was nearly fell down just now. near the dead end。

sonicccboy 2004-8-26 15:49

nearly dead for weeks
