I wonder how names can be misleading sometimes...

"Anglefish" is nothing like angle, and "Killifish" is nothing like killer...

Suddenly I just think of Shakespeare's saying, "Whatever a rose is called, it still has its fragance"...
loveflower 2007-4-13 11:32

"Whatever a rose is called, it still has its fragance" ,it is for the killifish;

"Whatever a rose is called, it still has its sting" will be the case for anglefish.
[em01]

I still don't know why anglefish is called anglefish...

It looks more like a fallen angle to me...
loveflower 2007-4-13 12:23

ha,therapist comes again.

angler is not angier

An angler is a person who catches fish and that is exactly what the anglerfish does.
[em07]

WHAT?! with a "r"????? Never noticed it until this moment...
[em04][em04][em04][em04]

I've always thought it's "angle-fish"
Fishie... ha...ha...ha... you are SOOOOOOOOO right! I've mistaken "angle" as "angel" without noticing at all...
[em04][em04][em04][em04]

I suppose either I need a new pair of glasses, or I need to copy "angle" and "angel" with their respective Chinese meaning 500 times...
talking about shrimps... I mean this type...
[img]http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/images/amano_shrimp.jpg[/img]

Not the type that's frozen...
