Let me recommend another movie: Music and Lyrics. Also about people who write, but this time of course it's writing lyrics instead of novels.

It's about a 80s star (Hugh Grant) who tried to become famous again (it was almost his last chance) by writing a song for a super-famous young singer. He wrote it with the help of a talented yet with low self-esteem girl (Drew Barrymore).

Music and Lyrics came out on the Valentine's Day, but it didn't mean it has to be a Valentine's movie. In fact, the content has nothing to do with "Valentine's".
