[shopaholic] Hate and Love about Jeans
Okay, admit it -- I LOVE shopping. Shopping is great. From fashion to kitchen wares, from furniture to books, isn't it great to have brought something you like back home?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sure, everyone owns at least a pair of jeans (okay, we spare those who don't wear jeans!!), even I have at least five pairs or jeans. But I don't like jeans, in fact.
When I was back home, my jeans just stayed in the closet all day long because their owner prefers skirts than jeans. Why, jeans are thick and hard. It's just so hot to wear them in summer -- that your thighs suffocate... It may be better to wear them in winter. But then, you still have a lot of clothes for winter season.
This situation changed when I first came to the US. Before I left, my mom already prepared me a few pairs of jeans. "College students wear jeans," she told me. The truth was -- **half correct and half wrong.
Of course many people wear jeans, because they are the most convenient outfit and they match well with almost anything: T-shirts, shirts, vests, tube-tops, polo shirts, sweaters... You can wear sneakers, flats, flip-flops, high heels... Man, jeans are so easy!
And the color is good too -- simple blue, so it looks good with white, red, yellow, brown, pink...
And there're so many styles! High-waist, low-waist, skinny jeans, baggy jeans...
But the greatest thing about jeans is that, you can wear them anywhere! Okay, this isn't totally correct, you don't usually wear jeans to office and funerals. But still, you can wear them to supermarkets, parties, parks, bars... and of course, you can wear them to classrooms too!
Because jeans are so easy and convenient, I started wearing jeans almost every day, until, when spring finally knocks on your door! A few days ago it was pretty hot, so I changed into a dress to school. My classmates were most surprised, "Do you have a date today?" No, I explained, it was only because the weather was hot. The reason of their surprise was that they have always seen me in jeans... [em06][em06]
Well, but then spring has finally come. I suppose my jeans could take a rest in the closet...
**half correct and half wrong:
You may assume that everyone wears jeans in college, but many people wears activewears and shorts too! Guys usually wear khaki.
